09 June 1996
It never fails, a seemingly minor adjustment at the last minute always seems
to cause a problem. Due to the nature of the problem with dates being
parsed incorrectly in FILES.BBS mode, these updated executables are being
released. If the compile date of your copy of AMU is 30 May 1996, you need
these new executables which were compiled on 09 June 1996. These fix the
date problem as well as a few others that were reported since the official
Gamma release:
* In FILES.BBS mode, file dates were being parsed incorrectly which would
cause incorrect dates in the Allfiles/Newfiles listings, and would also
cause the Old option to incorrectly calculate the age of some files.
Fixed.
* If AMU was posting to a Squish message area and the message AMU posted
was the first in that area, the Squish ID field was not set correctly
which would cause TimED to complain. Fixed.
* Posting to Squish message areas was requiring that SHARE.EXE be loaded
even if you were running a single-task system. Fixed.
* For LoraBBS systems, LoraBBS would not properly display the AMU headers.
Fixed.
* When running with command line parameters, if no file areas were defined
on the command line AMU would operate on all file areas instead of just
those defined in CONFIG.AMU. Fixed.
* Under some rare circumstances (which naturally showed up the day after
the Gamma was released even though they never appeared once during Beta
testing... thank you Mr. Murphy), the code that read the logfiles could
generate an OS/2 trap error in the OS/2 version, and unpredictable results
in the DOS/DPMI/Windows versions. Fixed.
* For Maximus systems which have the MAXIMUS environment variable set and
included the MAX.PRM as part of that, AMUCFG would not remove the MAX.PRM
when it tried to figure out where your Maximus configuration was located.
Fixed. You will need to run AMUCFG and check this field before running
AMU.
